Grafton Spa’s Beauty and Wellbeing New Year’s Resolutions
This December, we’re tipping tradition it on its head by setting slightly different resolutions for the new year, focussing on beauty on the inside and out, and wellbeing. We’ve all set fitness and career goals in the past which can put unnecessary pressure on us so, inevitably, some of these goals aren’t achieved as they’re a) unrealistic, b) it makes you feel rubbish about yourself and c) life gets in the way! At Grafton Spa, we’re saying now is the time to change! Here’s what’s on our list for 2018:
Embrace the body you have
To hell with setting goals that make us feel like we’re not good enough. It’s time we all embraced the bodies we have. If you want to start a sport or fitness regime in January then great! But let the overall goal be boosted strength and wellbeing, not weight loss. If you’re in need of a little pick-me-up in the new year a spray tan can give you the golden glow you need in the dull, greyness of January.
Remove makeup every night
Don’t neglect your skin. Letting make up seep into your pores at night is one of the most damaging things you can do you your skin other than not wearing an SPF. Make it a night-time ritual to gently cleanse your face and remove all traces of makeup. Our favourite cleanser is Matis Radiant Cleansing Water, use Matis Regenerating Cavair Face Cream after cleansing to wake up with beautiful, clear skin.
Wash your make up brushes
If you’ve already mastered to art of make up removal before bed then you must keep nasties at bay by regularly cleaning your make up brushes, ideally every day! Brushes can harbour a host of bacterial which needs to stay as far away from your face (and eyes) as possible.
Love your hair
We always want what we don’t have but it’s time we shifted our perspective and love what we have. To mirror embracing our bodies, we must embrace our natural hair too, whether wavy, curly or straight. Spend less time forcing your locks into a style they don’t want to be; laying off the heat and chemical treatment will do it the world of good. Treat your hair to moisturising hair mask and keep on top of regular trims.
Don’t feel guilty
You’re allowed to treat yourself to a little me time every so often, so don’t feel guilty. Our top 3 ‘me time’ treatments for 2018 are:
What beauty and wellbeing resolutions will you be setting for yourself for the new year? We hope you’ve inspired you! From all of us at Grafton Spa, have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year.
