4 things to do when the kids have gone back to school
The countdown is on…it’s only a matter of days before the summer holidays are over. Some of us may despair at the thought of the return of the dreaded school run and enduring an empty nest, but many of us are rejoicing at the freedom which ensues when our little darlings are back in the careful hands of their teachers. We thought it would be an appropriate time to write a blog with a list of things to do when your children are back in school – things which aren’t possible when you’re packing in as much activity, day trips and play-dates into the week. Here is our checklist to ensure you regain your freedom and claim back a little piece of YOU…
Autumn is the new Spring
Ever dreamt of a time where you can tidy the house and it stays clean and organised? Now is the time to blitz the house as it’s going to feel so good to know it’s not going to be ruined by muddy footprints, Lego explosions and sticky jam sandwiches. Until 3.30 anyway…
With the change in climate on the horizon, it’s advisable to clean your house thoroughly before the cold snap to reduce the risk of bacteria in your home – so don those marigolds and get scrubbing.
Hit the shops
Wise parents know that shopping with children is not a fun task – so you may have confined your shopping to online purchases only between July-September. When you’re little ones are back in the classroom take the time to browse the aisles at your leisure – stock up on lunchbox essentials without any quibbles and be sure to treat yourself to something luxurious too…
Catch up with friends
Not all friends have children, and these buddies certainly aren’t going to want to catch up on the latest gossip when you’re playing referee with your squabbling children in the local café. Book the time to catch up with friends you haven’t seen for a while, work around their schedule and reminisce about a time where your life was free from nappies, ironing uniform and after school clubs.
Indulging yourself in something that recharges your batteries and makes you feel good about yourself should be done with feelings of guilt, as they so often are. Take the time out of the day to read a book, pick up the phone to chat with a friend or book yourself into the spa. At Grafton Spa & Wellness we’ve curated a very special package for hard working mothers just like yourselves. Enjoy the following this September:
- Muscle melt massage
- Hand & arm massage
- Mini Indian head massage
Along with a glass of prosecco, yummy sweet treats and cakes and full use of the spa with its hydrotherapy pool, aspen sauna and steam room – enjoy the whole spa, including its outdoor private decking area overlooking the gorgeous Northamptonshire countryside, with fluffy robes to snuggle in and slippers too. Add a manicure and pedicure to the mix too for the ultimate mummy make over. If you’re calling out for some ‘me time’ this September then give us a call to book your Back to School pamper day. Our number is 01327 810206.
